Job Title : Manufacturing Engineer I Department: Operations Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday Facility location: Chester, CT Summary: Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a Production facility.
Requirements
of designs or applications Provides DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) input for new product development Possesses basic mechanical systems knowledge and understanding to aid in the design and building of manufacturing fixtures Supports manufacturing of prototype and pre-production products Provides training and provides ongoing support of manufacturing systems Assists with improving Production efficiency through hands-on work with the Production floor and utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques and Continuous Improvement strategies. Scope Delivers results in accordance with goals and expectations Satisfies internal and external customer needs Takes ownership for results and assumes responsibility Openly communicates about commitments Seeks new solutions Applies learning to work and process flow Works in a professional manner Shares information readily with team and larger department Works well in a Team environment Energetic hands-on problem solver BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering w/0–2+ years’ experience Basic solid modeling experience.
Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards Attend scheduled EH&S training program Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans Recommend improved EH&S practices Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties.
