UM — Solihull, Solihull
Jerroms Financial Planning, part of the Sumer Group, is a well-established and growing directly authorised Independent Financial Advisory firm, managing more than £250 million of client assets and providing high-quality financial planning advice to individuals, families, business owners and SMEs. We work closely with five Jerroms accountancy offices across the Midlands and a broader network of Sumer’s accounting firms throughout the UK. These established professional relationships will provide you with regular client introductions and the opportunity to build long-term, trusted relationships with business owners, company directors and their families.
Our advisors benefit from a strong investment proposition, modern financial planning technology and experienced support from advisers, paraplanners and administrators. They also work alongside specialist departments across accountancy, tax, corporate finance, wills and estate planning, helping to ensure clients receive truly holistic advice. We are looking for an ambitious and relationship-focused individual who wants to build a successful long-term career as an Independent Financial Advisor.
You may be an established adviser looking for greater independence, professional autonomy and the right long-term environment in which to build a fulfilling career, an adviser with experience of working directly with clients who has not yet achieved Competent Advisor Status, or an experienced paraplanner looking to move into advice. Whether you are Chartered or Diploma qualified, what matters most to us is your professionalism, integrity, ability to build trust and commitment to delivering excellent long-term outcomes for clients. Alongside building your own client bank, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for existing client relationships, helping you to establish yourself and build momentum within the role.
You will be given the support and autonomy to develop trusted relationships with clients and professional colleagues while taking genuine ownership of your career. We are looking for someone with the ambition and drive to make the most of the opportunities available and contribute to the continued growth of Jerroms Financial Planning. Experience of advising clients is desirable, but existing Competent Advisor Status is not essential.
Where further development is required, we will provide structured mentoring, supervision and support while expecting you to demonstrate the commitment required to progress. For those developing into a full advisory role, we will work closely with you during your first six months to build on your experience, strengthen your advisory skills and establish relationships across the wider business. What we can offer: A structured development pathway with mentoring and support at every stage.
Access to the strength and reputation of the Sumer Group and its established introducer network. The opportunity to build long-term relationships with accountancy firms and their clients. Genuine career progression within a business that believes in developing talent from within.
The opportunity to shape your own career, client bank, and earning potential as you become established. This is a rare opportunity to fast-track your career as an Independent Financial Advisor while benefiting from the scale, reputation, and collaborative network of the Sumer Group. If you're looking to develop your advisory career in a supportive environment with excellent long-term prospects, we'd love to hear from you.
Diploma in Financial Planning at Level 4 as a minimum with a willingness to work towards Chartered status. Experience of advising clients or working within a client-facing financial planning role. Existing Competent Advisor Status is welcomed but is not essential.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn the trust of clients and professional colleagues. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
