HMB Professional Engineers is seeking a TDOT Plant Inspector with experience inspecting asphalt production and ensuring compliance with Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) specifications. Requirements

Coordinate with field inspectors and project staff to support successful project delivery Maintain accurate documentation to support material acceptance and project records Travel to asphalt plants and project sites as required throughout assigned regions High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred 2+ years of experience in construction inspection, materials testing, asphalt plant inspection, or related transportation construction work Working knowledge of TDOT specifications, construction materials, and asphalt production processes Experience performing asphalt, aggregate, and construction materials sampling and testing Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and documentation skills Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, plant personnel, TDOT representatives, and internal project teams Ability to work independently in both plant and outdoor construction environments Maintain the physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, lift testing equipment, and work in varying weather conditions Daily travel and occasional overnight stays may be required depending on project assignments Valid TN Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Successful completion of drug screening and background check Excellent
