Overview This Senior Project Accountant will handle all the accounting functions for various Project-level entities and will produce accurate and timely quarterly financial statements and monthly financial reports as required.
The hire should be able to perform full cycle accounting functions within their assigned entities. These functions include maintenance of accounts receivable, management of cash payments, lease accounting, debt service, financial account reconciliations and various other cash and reporting activities. The Senior Project Accountant will work closely with Accounting Manager to effectively manage the accounting and report on various projects to investors and management.
This role involves applying a broad range of accounting including general ledger, treasury operations, account reconciliations, and the creation of excel schedules. The Senior Project Accountant will have ability to help develop and implement policies, procedures, and other best practices with the assistance of the accounting manager. There are no direct reports with this role.
The Senior Project Accountant must be comfortable working independently and working in a cross-functional team environment as this role will collaborate with various departments across the company.
Responsibilities
Monthly oversight of automated depreciation journals in NetSuite Record ASC 842 lease adoption journals and maintain oversight of LeaseQuery records Record development project costs and collaborate with the project execution team to confirm actual costs. Prepare reconciliations for project and fixed asset related accounts Reconcile inter-company activity, including inter-company payables, receivables, investment in subsidiaries, and equity. Prepare schedules to support quarterly and annual audited financial statements and disclosure notes Provide supporting work papers as requested by the independent auditors Prepare supporting documents and record complex journal entries in areas such as, but not limited to project work in progress, fixed assets, cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, leases, various operating expenses and revenues, investment and equity Seek continuous improvement of assigned tasks and identify processes suitable for automation.
