We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and energetic Level II Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during a wide range of clinical procedures. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly, collaborative, and growing dental team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about building strong patient relationships and supporting the ongoing oral health of the community.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and a variety of clinical procedures. Prepare, organize, and set up trays, instruments, and materials prior to procedures. Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with HARP regulations.
Provide chairside support including suctioning, passing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort. Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions. Sterilize instruments and maintain clinical operatory cleanliness according to infection control and IPAC standards.
Document patient care in the practice management system accurately and promptly. Assist with impressions, whitening procedures, and other Level II duties as permitted. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and report stock needs to the clinical lead or dentist.
Support a smooth and efficient patient flow throughout the day by collaborating closely with the dental team.
Qualifications
NDAEB-Certified Level II Dental Assistant (required). HARP Certification (required). Knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and dental instruments/equipment.
Experience with orthodontics or pediatric dentistry is an asset. Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental, Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent, or Paradigm is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality care. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
