Manufacturing Equipment Engineer-TX

Position Summary This position is responsible for both designing and developing manufacturing systems and equipment and assessing existing systems to identify weaknesses and strengths, conducting research and analyses, developing prototypes, setting and implementing test systems and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. Own the full lifecycle of manufacturing equipment by designing, developing, commissioning, maintaining, and continuously improving semi- and fully-automated manufacturing equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient production. Provide hands-on manufacturing floor support by spending the majority of the workday installing, troubleshooting, repairing, optimizing, and commissioning custom production equipment while partnering closely with Operators, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Automation Controls Engineering to maximize equipment performance.

Design and implement innovative manufacturing solutions including production equipment, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and support hardware with a focus on safety, ergonomics, reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, and operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability by leading root cause investigations, implementing permanent corrective actions, analyzing manufacturing data, and improving equipment uptime, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness. Collaborate across cross-functional teams to bridge product engineering and manufacturing, support new product introductions, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure successful equipment integration into production.
