Senior Database Administrator Role Summary Exiger is the market leader in AI-native supply chain and third-party risk management, serving more than 60 federal agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises on a FedRAMP High authorized platform. We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the data foundation powering 1Exiger, our agentic AI platform, as well as our core transactional and analytical workloads.
This is not a traditional DBA role. You will manage cloud databases and data platforms while helping build the AI-native data infrastructure required for vector search, embeddings, RAG pipelines, inference telemetry, and agent memory. You will work across AWS commercial, AWS GovCloud, and future IL5/IL6 air-gapped environments, partnering with platform, AI/ML, infrastructure, and security teams to support product innovation, Sovereign AI, and operational excellence.
What You’Ll Do
Architect, operate, and optimize Exiger’s cloud data platforms across AWS commercial, AWS GovCloud, and future IL5/IL6 environments. Own performance, scale, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and multi-region strategies across transactional, analytical, and AI workloads. Build and support AI-native data infrastructure for 1Exiger, including vector search, embeddings, RAG pipelines, inference telemetry, evaluation data, and agent memory.
Requirements
Partner with security teams on POA M remediation, vulnerability management, control evidence, and continuous monitoring. Drive cost optimization, modernization, and consolidation across legacy and cloud data estates using FinOps and open data architecture principles. Promote DevOps best practices, including infrastructure as code, automated schema migrations, CI/CD integration, and feature-flag-gated releases.
Mentor engineers and DBAs on scalable, cost-aware, compliance-ready data architecture. Technical Environment Cloud: AWS commercial, AWS GovCloud, future IL5/IL6 air-gapped environments Databases: PostgreSQL, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server Analytics/lakehouse: Snowflake, S3, Iceberg, Trino, Athena AI data infrastructure: pgvector, OpenSearch, vector search, embeddings, RAG, inference telemetry Infrastructure and release: Terraform, Pulumi, GitLab/GitHub pipelines, OpenFeature, automated schema migrations Observability: Graphana Data: High-volume, regulated datasets, including CUI and federal supply chain intelligence What You Need 8+ years of database administration experience with increasing ownership of cloud data architecture. Deep expertise in cloud database design, performance tuning, scaling, capacity planning, cost planning, backup, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
