Job Summary: Responsible for OSHA and corporate Environment Health and Safety compliance, multiple site support, and project support for a growing manufacturing company. This includes driving results and fostering collaboration to ensure compliant EHS programs and continuous improvement at the site.

Collaborates and partners with operations to ensure EHS compliance is incorporated into daily operations.

Responsibilities

: Reviews processes, facilities, procedures and management of change documents to assure conformance to recognized EHS regulations, standards and guidelines. Completes hazard assessments, process hazard analysis, life safety reviews, incident investigations, safety regulatory field analysis, reports and permit applications. Provides leadership to formation and sustained performance of action oriented EHS committees.

Assure completion of all regulatory submissions, notifications, etc.

Requirements

Experience with EHS agency inspections and regulatory advocacy. Education and/or knowledge of Safety/Environmental regulations and compliance, concentration in Safety or Environmental, Science, Engineering or related technical discipline preferred. Environmental Health and Safety work experience.

Knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, critical thinking, and communication skills. Proficient with project management and problem solving. Must be willing to learn and get experience as needed for compliance.

Must be willing to work as a team player with production and the EHS team. The EHS Specialist ensures compliance with environmental health and safety regulations and policies. Provides leadership and advice on the EHS programs and carries out audits to ensure that company and government standards are met.

Working knowledge of OSHA and TCEQ regulations. Excellent communications skills with ability to handle internal and external contacts in a positive and effective manner. Experience developing and delivering training programs necessary.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. High school Diploma or Equivalent required Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred. 2-6 years EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.

Prolonged periods of standing and bending required. Must be able to lift 35 pounds at a time.
