Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong background in Employee Relations? We're looking for a People & Culture Advisor to join our People & Culture team at Blue Cross on a 6 month fixed term contract. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll work closely with managers and colleagues across the organisation, providing practical advice, guidance and support on a wide range of people matters.
A key focus of the role will be supporting managers through Employee Relations matters, helping them navigate both informal and formal processes confidently and consistently. We're looking for someone who can quickly build effective relationships, work independently and confidently manage a varied caseload, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking to make an immediate impact. This is a single role with flexibility for the successful candidate to be based in either Burford or Manchester, with a separate advert also available for the Manchester location.
You'll be an experienced HR professional with strong Employee Relations knowledge and the confidence to advise managers through a wide range of people matters. You'll be comfortable handling both informal and formal cases and able to provide practical, balanced advice that supports positive outcomes while ensuring compliance with policy and employment legislation. You'll have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to influence, challenge and support managers effectively.
You'll be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and comfortable working independently while collaborating as part of a wider team. Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys helping managers navigate complex people issues and is able to quickly establish credibility and trust within a busy operational environment.
Qualifications
, Skills, and Experience Previous experience of working in HR, gained throughout the employee life cycle Significant experience of advising and coaching managers through formal and informal Employee Relations cases, including sickness absence, grievance, disciplinary and capability matters Experience of advising managers through formal and informal Employee Relations cases including sickness absence, grievance, disciplinary and capability Confident in dealing with numbers and experience of analysing and reporting data Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-facing skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Good attention to detail Great administration skills A proven track record of prioritising and organising work and projects within a busy and multi-functioning role IT literate with MS Office, web-based platforms, and databases The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values Desirable
