Following training, tutors are expected to independently facilitate small-group instruction, effectively use provided curricula and materials, and maintain organized, engaging learning environments.

We are seeking dedicated, reliable tutors who are passionate about educational equity and committed to making a measurable impact on student achievement. Ideal candidates demonstrate professionalism and consistency, build strong relationships with students, adapt instruction to diverse learning needs, and engage learners through culturally responsive practices.

Tutors typically work with 3–4 students per session in a supportive learning environment, helping to strengthen core academic skills while fostering confidence and connection. This role is well-suited for individuals interested in education, mentorship, or youth development, including recent graduates and those exploring a pathway into teaching. Tutoring schedules vary by school and may change based on partner school needs.

Tutors will receive a preliminary schedule of up to 10 hours per week, with any adjustments communicated in advance by school leaders. Maintaining a minimum of 10 service hours per week is required to successfully complete the 100-hour AmeriCorps commitment. In weeks when tutoring hours are reduced due to school scheduling, tutors are expected to complete remaining service hours through additional school support duties, such as assisting with testing or preparing instructional spaces.
