POSITION SUMMARY The Deputy Design Coordinator is responsible for managing project design, resource planning, budgeting and development and direct all design activities to ensure successful completion and close-out of deliverables and designs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage both internal and external engineers and coordinate design activities between estimating, construction, external consultants, and clients.

are met. Due diligence and review of design provided by sub-consultants and clients, performing quality control reviews, checking the design with independent analyses and models. Monitor and report progress against design schedule.
Review and approve tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Defend solutions in front of the client and other stakeholders, achieving the approval of the design. Be vigilant and anticipate technical risks and design strategies to protect the JV against those technical risks.
Function as the prime contact coordinating the resolution of design and engineering problems, reviewing progress, recommending alternatives, and advising on project objectives. Coordinate with clients, engineering consultants and other stakeholders to discuss on and solve design and construction related topics. Initiate, coordinate, and design projects and calculations, as needed.
Develop or evaluate plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the design effort. Review drawings and designer submittals for accuracy.
Prepare and monitor design budget and schedule. Interface with estimating and construction team and coordinate with construction approach. Participate in meetings with owners, developers, partners, and subs.
Produce periodic Design Progress Reports, as required by the PDA.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Civil Engineering is required. ) in at least one state, with the ability to obtain registration in the state of Pennsylvania is required. Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA and PennDOT regulations is required.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Demonstrated familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is also required. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain good relationships and partnerships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and construction partners required.
Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) is highly valuable.
