Job Summary: Paraprofessional (Kindergarten Aide) works under the supervision of the classroom teacher and serves as a support person in the classroom.

This position provides appropriate services to the students, helping to implement suggested educational activities and in monitoring student behavior. Essential Functions: Assist teachers with the logistics of instructions. Including passing out books, supplies, attendance, and making copies Assist teachers in monitoring student’s work behavior Monitors children during lunch and recess Assists with movement of children through hallways and onto and off buses Assists teachers with reinforcing instruction and small group learning.

Requirements

: An associate degree or at least 48 postsecondary education credits; or the successful completion of a state or locally developed assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics Previous work with inner city youth a plus.
