The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and student-centered Special Education Intensive Support Teacher to lead a small, structured classroom serving students with moderate disabilities for most of the school day. This role functions closest to a self-contained classroom, not a traditional pull-out model, and requires strong expertise in small-group instruction, individualized learning, and classroom structure. The ideal candidate brings experience in self-contained, autism support, or life skills settings and is excited to support students in building both academic and functional skills.

This teacher also serves as the instructional leader for paraprofessionals, ensuring high-quality, consistent support for all students.

What You’Ll Do

Instruction Student Support Deliver differentiated, standards-based instruction in reading, writing, and math aligned to IEP goals Provide structured small-group and individualized instruction for students with moderate disabilities, ,including autism and functional skill needs Integrate life skills, executive functioning, and social-emotional learning into daily routines IEP Implementation Caseload Management Manage a student caseload, ensuring IEP goals, services, accommodations, and supports are implemented with fidelity Use student data to adjust instruction, monitor progress, and inform IEP updates Maintain accurate compliance records and participate meaningfully in IEP meetings Team Leadership Collaboration Lead and coach paraprofessionals and 1:1 aides to ensure consistent instructional delivery Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and service providers to align student support Family Communication School Community Build proactive relationships with families and communicate regularly about student progress Partner with families to support academic, functional, and social-emotional growth Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture Professional
