What We’Re Looking For
: Nexamp is looking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer to join it's Clean Energy Deployment team. You will be responsible for review of solar storage projects design by providing technical expertise in the interconnection, construction, and assisting in the commissioning of distributed energy resources (DERs). We are accepting candidates across our hub offices of Chicago, Boston, DC, and NY.
We are supporting hybrid work. You will report to the Director, Electrical Engineering.
What You’Ll Do
: Specify and review equipment shop drawings for switchgear, transformers, reclosers and other major electrical equipment. Perform advanced electrical modeling in ETAP and AmpCalc to coordinate system protection, determine fault-duty ratings, and calculate arc-flash hazards. Manage scope of work for 3rd party electrical engineers including but not limited to studies; protection coordination, power flow, Arc Flash, Step/touch Grounding Analysis, PSCAD and PSSE Modeling, Substation Design.
Support the Grid Integration and Project Engineering team.
Requirements
Respond to RFIs on active construction projects as required Provide technical support to Nexamp commissioning: Review medium-voltage equipment tests and factory tests Develop, with assistance, mitigation plans for non-performance to establish safe operation Review RDB files and relay test reports Certify mechanical completion on construction complete projects Provide technical support to Nexamp development, EPC, and O M departments for the entire life cycle of a project including development, permitting, construction, and asset management phases Manage new product research and implementation initiatives Participate in process improvement activities and the generation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Best Practices Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical conduct What you’ll bring: 6+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 2+ years of PV experience Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering EIT certification required, PE preferred Utility scale design and HV substation experience or effective grounding experience preferred.
