About The Role
As a Hardware Engineering Program Specialist, you'll help drive the development of Verkada's next generation of hardware products. Working alongside experienced Engineering Program Managers and cross-functional engineering teams, you'll support programs from early development through product launch while building the technical and operational skills needed to grow into a Program Manager role. This position is designed for early-career engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and bringing products from concept to production.
Whether you've recently graduated or have a few years of relevant experience, you'll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while learning from experienced leaders across engineering, manufacturing, and operations. This is a full-time, in-person role based in our San Mateo, CA office.
What You'Ll Do
Support the planning and execution of new hardware development programs from prototype through production. Partner with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to keep projects on track. Track schedules, milestones, risks, and action items across multiple hardware programs.
Coordinate engineering builds, prototype logistics, and validation activities. Assist with product bring-up, manufacturing readiness, and new product introductions. Help identify risks, remove blockers, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
Prepare project status updates and presentations for engineering leadership. Work with domestic and international manufacturing partners throughout the product development lifecycle. Travel internationally up to 20% to support new product introductions and manufacturing activities.
What You Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, research, or full-time experience are all considered). Strong organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead projects through internships, research, student organizations, athletics, or other leadership experiences.
Passion for consumer electronics, hardware development, and manufacturing. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.
