Manufacturing Engineer (Tank Weldment/Primary Structure)

As a Manufacturing Engineer for Tank Weldments at Impulse, you will be responsible for building the primary pressure boundary for Impulse’s new “Helios” kick-stage vehicle. This is a technical role in a development heavy environment, requiring execution on aggressive timelines and rapid design iterations. The manufacturing engineer is expected to own design for manufacturability of their hardware and development of the manufacturing process.

Requirements

Provide subject matter expertise on primary structure manufacturing processes including fusion welding, solid state welding, raw material processing, machining, non-destructive examination, and mechanical joining processes. Participate in design trades and sign off on key decisions on how hardware is made.

Optimize and accelerate existing manufacturing processes for tank integration & supporting structures Work directly with machinists, welders & technicians to produce hardware that meets all technical

Ideate and execute on projects to improve the technicians’ experience and provide design for manufacturability feedback based on technician feedback.

Compensation

bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
