The Field Decommission Technician supports the safe and efficient decommissioning of power distribution equipment at customer sites and Emerald Transformer facilities. The position is responsible for dismantling retired units, recovering salvageable metals and usable parts, and handling oils, solvents, and other liquid compounds in accordance with company safety and environmental expectations. This role requires regular travel throughout Emerald Transformer’s service territory, including overnight and extended stays, and the flexibility to work overtime, call-in hours, evenings, and weekends to meet customer needs.

When field work is not scheduled, the technician is assigned work at the home facility and may also support other field crews or Emerald Transformer entities as needed.
