Join the Satellite Embedded Software Group (ESG) as a Senior Software Build Engineer.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role that reports to the Director of Flight Software. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end build systems, configuration, CI/CD pipelines, and internal tool integration. This role also contributes heavily to internal tools including device emulators and emulation environments.

Responsibilities

: Deploy and manage build systems, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS. Drive work to timely completion using task management tools like Jira in an Agile-like environment; participate and lead in status and standup meetings, sprint planning, tasking, etc. Collaborate with other ESG software team members and other cross-functional engineers from multiple disciplines to deliver mission-critical software infrastructure and tools that are on-time and high quality.

Required Qualifications

: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience At least six (6) years of experience delivering and maintaining commercial/embedded. software in a production environment. Expertise in engineering clean and maintainable Python and Bash code.

Experience with version control and continuous integration. Expertise with developer took chains, build tools and pipeline, such as Git, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, JIRA. Expertise working with Linux toolchains and environments (Gnu toolchain, QEMU, Buildroot, Yocto).

Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environment. Proven experience delivering products on time and on budget. Excellent root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work across teams, skill sets, communication in a diverse environment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

This position may support programs which require US citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

: Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in a relevant field of study. Comfortable interfacing with physical hardware. Knowledge of FPGA (Verilog, HDL) build tools and environments.
