Pharmacy Manager Job Purpose: Provides integrated support to patients and physicians by providing a ‘hands-on” approach to total quality patient care through the delivery of a full continuum of medication administration from preparing medications to giving pharmacological information to monitoring patient drug therapies and providing adherence support. The pharmacy will be dispensing retail medications.

include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; succession planning; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; Assures staff training and competency; Complies with Human Resources policies. ; Implements record systems and processes for the operating unit; Guarantees compliance with the state and federal regulations, accrediting body standards, corporate policies, and standards of performance; Oversees pharmacy patient services directly or through a qualified individual with responsibility for policy implementation, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement; Participates directly in pharmacy services as required; Manages compliance to the Company formulary as applicable; Oversees staff allocation Management responsibility for all pharmacy personnel; may direct subordinate managers/supervisors; Works independently; demonstrates leadership in the practice of pharmacy; Ability to supervise employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments; Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with branch departments; Employee development and performance management skills; Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures; developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; Knowledge of computerized information systems, including financial applications; Knowledge of pharmacy reimbursement: state, federal and commercial; Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures; Knowledge of management principles and practices; Ability to develop, plan, and implement short range and long-range goals. Oversee internship/education programs; Other tasks as assigned; Education/Experience: Required Licensure/Certification: Applicant must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy and be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of TN.
Years of Experience: Required 5+ years’ experience, 2+ years in a leadership role.
