Michels Energy Group, Inc. — Coquitlam, British Columbia
About Moment Energy Independent energy is here. Help us deploy it. Energy should be free.
Free from aging grids, fragile supply chains, and unnecessary extraction. At Moment Energy, we’re building a world where clean power is abundant, affordable, and uninterrupted for everyone. The world doesn’t need another promise about energy; it needs proof that a freer future is possible.
Moment Energy is the pragmatic liberator of power, the only company certified to turn the largest untapped energy supply into independent energy. Now is the moment. While the industry scraps millions of batteries with decades of life left, we put them to work by repurposing large-format batteries into advanced battery energy storage systems that deliver real-world impact.
We were told second-life batteries would never be safe enough or scalable enough. We didn’t argue, we engineered the solution. Today, Moment Energy delivers 5x the energy density and holds the certifications required to deploy energy independence at scale.
Now is the moment. Join us. The Opportunity Moment Energy is seeking an Electrical Systems Architect to design and develop the electrical systems that power Moment Energy’s next-generation Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of system design, manufacturability, and product integration. Working closely with the Lead Electrical Engineer and cross-functional teams, you will translate system architecture into robust, production-ready electrical designs that can be reliably manufactured, installed, and deployed at scale. Your expertise in high-voltage battery systems, wiring design, protection systems, and electrical integration will play a critical role in bringing our products from concept to certified, manufacturable systems.
Responsibilities
and Duties Design and develop electrical system architectures for Battery Energy Storage Systems, including HV distribution, protection, and interconnect strategies. Translate high-level product architecture into detailed electrical designs suitable for manufacturing and deployment. Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness designs for production systems.
Define electrical interfaces between battery modules, BMS, PCS/inverters, safety systems, and control systems. Design high-voltage AC DC distribution systems (600V+), including protection devices, disconnects, busbars, and safety interlocks.
Requirements
Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure electrical designs can be built efficiently on the production floor. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components within enclosures and system packaging.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical integration issues during prototype builds, validation testing, and product launches. Contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, documentation practices, and electrical architecture guidelines. The Candidate We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for high-voltage or high-power products. Experience designing electrical systems for BESS, EV systems, renewable energy systems, or industrial power equipment. Strong experience with high-voltage DC systems (600V+), including protection, grounding, and safety strategies.
Strong experience with 3-phase AC systems (480V+), including transformers, switch gear and breaker sizing Expertise in electrical schematics, wiring design, and system integration.
. Demonstrated experience bringing electrical systems from protot
