Position Overview Wallace Electric Company is currently seeking a Commercial Industrial Electrical Superintendent for our Data Centers clients. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field electrical operations on commercial and industrial construction projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications, codes, and client expectations.
The superintendent leads crews, coordinates subcontractors, manages materials, and supports communication between project management and field operations. To be successful in this role, the individual will be laser-focused on the project at hand, while continuing to be decisive, strategic, structured, and dedicated to producing high-quality results for the organization and the client. The Superintendent will rise to the occasion when meeting stringent deadlines, understanding the gravity of what it means to follow-up and follow-through.
The individual will have exceptional communication skills and will exemplify strong leadership, serving as a mentor to their team while leading by example. The individual will not second-guess or shy away from jumping into the mighty trenches with their crew when it is crunch time or deemed necessary . The Superintendent must have at least five years of experience, managing all phases of a Data Center project(s) .
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership Workforce Management Lead, supervise, and mentor electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors. Assign daily tasks, manage labor allocation, and track productivity. Conduct daily huddles, weekly planning meetings, and toolbox talks.
Enforce company policies, safety rules, and jobsite standards. Project Execution Planning Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and scope to plan field activities. Create look-ahead schedules and coordinate manpower needs.
Ensure work is installed to NEC, local codes, engineering documents, and quality standards. Identify constructability issues and provide solutions to project management. Safety Compliance Promote a zero‑incident safety culture on all job sites.
Conduct safety audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and enforce PPE usage. Ensure compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and company policies. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions when required.
Coordination Communication Act as the primary field liaison with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and other trades. Coordinate scheduling for inspections, utility companies, and equipment vendors. Provide daily progress updates and assist with weekly reports.
Material, Equipment Cost Control Forecast and request materials, tools, and equipment to maintain workflow. Verify material deliveries and manage jobsite inventory.
