As an Experienced Discretionary Energy Trader, you will have a real opportunity to have a huge impact on the firm.
You will work side by side with other successful and talented individuals to capitalize on market opportunities across global energy markets. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, a competitive attitude, and a proven record of profitability in a trading position for at least 3 years. This is a senior risk-taking role that will be a key idea generator for the desk.
The ideal candidate would work hybrid from our headquarters in Chicago, IL or office in White Plains, NY, though we are open to remote candidates.
What You’Ll Do
: Manage your own trading book with a focus on energy markets such as refined products, natural gas, and power Manage your own risk across a portfolio of active strategies and drive trading decisions Analyze market fundamentals including supply/demand dynamics, storage levels, weather patterns, geopolitical developments, and regulatory changes Interpret price action, spreads, and order flow to identify trading opportunities Develop, test, and refine discretionary or systematic-informed strategies using historical and real-time market data Continuously monitor market conditions, news, and macroeconomic and energy-specific events Monitor material changes in levels of risk and variance in PnL, especially focused around deviation from your plans, and proactively communicate those changes to leadership What we’d like to see: Experience trading energy products such as natural gas or power.
Compensation
range for this position in Chicago, IL and New York is $72,000 to $120,000.
