About The Role
The Sr. Operations Specialist, Logistics will play a key role in facilitating supply chain logistics and managing on-site service inventory at DoorDash Labs. You will be responsible for the handling, movement, and organization of materials, components, and finished goods within our autonomous robotics service environment.
This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management systems, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to operate various material handling equipment, including those that interact with autonomous systems. You will ensure all of this is tracked in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). You will work cross-functionally with both the operations and engineering teams to achieve your objectives.
You will report to the Manager of Supply Chain and Maintenance Planning in our DoorDash Labs organization. You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Perform complex material handling tasks, including receiving, unpacking, inspecting, storing, issuing, and shipping a wide range of components and robotic systems. Safely and efficiently operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and potentially interact with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for material transport.
Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles, ensuring proper securing and documentation.
Requirements
Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established safety procedures and regulations. Utilize and maintain accurate records within CMMS software. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory reconciliation, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Monitor inventory levels and proactively communicate potential shortages or overages to relevant departments. Implement and maintain efficient storage solutions, optimizing space utilization and material accessibility. Collaborate effectively with service operations, engineering, quality, and other teams to ensure seamless material flow.
Train and mentor less experienced logistics specialists on best practices, safety procedures, and system usage. Proactively identify and suggest improvements to material handling processes and workflows. 3+ years of demonstrated experience as a Material Handler or Logistics Associate in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably within high-tech, electronics, or robotics industries. Proven experience with ERP systems. ).
Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly and perform repetitive tasks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
