As an Engineering Manager at Justworks, you will help build and oversee a team of software engineers as a player-coach. You are responsible for coordinating projects, setting priorities, and motivating engineers to create and maintain features for our customers. The role involves a mix of hands-on coding and a strong technical background, with a passion for mentoring and growing teams.

Your Success Profile What You Will Work On As Engineering Manager for Time Lifecycle, you'll be responsible for unifying time tracking, time off, leave management, shift scheduling, and project tracking across PEO, ASO, and EOR into a single system, replacing three fragmented legacy platforms. At the core of this work is building a compliance engine that automatically handles overtime, labor law, and pay rules across 50+ jurisdictions, while bringing leave management to life with native leave state, payroll pause, and proration support. The work also opens new verticals for Justworks by shipping the shift scheduling and project tracking capabilities that manufacturing, healthcare, and education customers require as table stakes.

Ultimately, this role owns the full pipeline from time entry to time payable — meaning the code you write directly determines whether thousands of workers are paid correctly every pay period.
