About the Position We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic problem-solver to join our Operations team. We sit at the heart of Jane Street’s trading, ensuring that assets, information, and ideas flow smoothly and efficiently both within the firm and between us and the outside world. As our trading grows in scale and complexity, we have to continually rethink and improve the way we work.

That’s where this role comes in. To start, you'll be embedded within one of our Operations teams, learning the day-to-day work alongside your colleagues—running the processes, understanding the products, building real context for how things get done and why. Over time, your focus will shift toward making that work better.

That might mean redesigning how a reconciliation is done, removing handoffs between teams, imagining how tools and systems could work better, or applying AI where it helps. You'll look for the changes that would make the biggest difference, help build them, and see them through to adoption. As you build context and a track record, you'll be pulled into problems in other Operations teams as well, and the balance will tip toward the process-improvement side of the work.
