AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team.

This role involves working closely with senior engineers to design and test electrical harnesses for satellites and associated ground support equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace projects.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and support the integration of electrical harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems. Create detailed electrical schematics, select wiring, connectors, back shells, and other harness components, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. Develop and execute test plans to verify functionality, reliability, and performance of electrical harness systems.

Requirements

Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including interface control documents, system schematics, block diagrams, harness drawings, and installation procedures. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (power, RF, command and data handling, and other subsystems) to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and design. Technology Stack CAD tools: Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, CATIA, Mentor Graphics. Electrical simulation tools: SPICE, MATLAB.

Familiarity with schematic capture tools.

Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods. Occasional hands-on work with hardware in lab environments.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications
