Role Overview As a Manager, Cortland Front Door Waste, you'll lead and develop a team of Front Door Waste Technicians while overseeing front‑door waste operations across your assigned communities. You’ll own scheduling, service quality, compliance, and reporting to ensure every property maintains Cortland’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and resident experience. Operational Management Create and manage daily and weekly schedules for service teams to ensure timely coverage across all assigned communities. Approve time sheets and verify that routes and communities are serviced as scheduled. Manage a labor budget based on the number of assigned properties, making staffing adjustments as needed.
Oversee daily service logs, app‑based documentation, and company reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to community teams and the Director of Cortland Front Door. Lead new community launches, including distribution of containers and initial service setup. Quality Control Safety Inspect communities regularly to ensure resident compliance, service team compliance, and adherence to Cortland standards.
Enforce, promote, and train team members on all EPA, OSHA, and company safety policies. Report all safety incidents thoroughly and promptly, following established protocols. Maintain accurate community, associate, and operational records.
Customer Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary operational contact for property managers and onsite teams. Address service escalations promptly and professionally. Partner with property teams to adjust service needs, resolve resident compliance issues, and maintain continuous service quality.
Resource Equipment Management Maintain inventory of supplies (PPE, containers, waste stations, tools) and ensure proper usage across the team. Drive to the warehouse as needed to replenish supplies or equipment. Ensure that vehicles, carts, compactors, and tools are properly maintained and safe to operate.
Coordinate repairs or service requests and reduce equipment downtime.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years’ experience in waste services, facilities operations, or similar service environments 1+ years’ of supervisory or people‑leadership experience; supervisory or technical training preferred Strong understanding of EPA, OSHA, and waste‑handling safety
