With innovation, quality and logistics as the backbone of the company, Sourceability’s cutting-edge products and services expedite the procurement process across a wide range of industries, including communications/cellular, consumer electronics, and auto manufacturing. Sourceability is building a new Global Engineering Organization (GEO) to strengthen internal software delivery, improve production ownership, and build long-term engineering capability inside the company.
We are looking for a Senior SQL Server DBA to own and improve the reliability, performance, recoverability, and operational quality of Sourceability's database and data platform environments. This role will focus primarily on SQL Server-backed business-critical systems, including production stability, high availability, disaster recovery, backup / recovery, performance tuning, schema review, and support for engineering teams. This is a hands-on technical role inside the Platform, DevOps Data function.
The Senior SQL Server DBA will work closely with Software Engineering, Product Group Team Leads / Architects, DevOps / Platform, Infrastructure Security, QA, Product / Delivery, and business stakeholders to reduce database-related production risk and improve delivery reliability. This role is not only a generic data engineering or analytics platform role. Data pipelines, reporting feeds, and data platform support are important, but the first priority is reliable operation of current production databases and safe support for software delivery.
This role is hybrid from our Budapest, Hungary office. Insight on Your Impact: Own day-to-day technical operation, reliability, performance, and recoverability of assigned SQL Server and related database environments. Support production, QA, UAT, staging, and development database environments used by Sourceability's business-critical applications.
Maintain and improve database backup, restore, recovery validation, retention, and disaster recovery procedures. Support high availability and disaster recovery designs, including SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication, failover readiness, and RPO / RTO expectations where applicable. Monitor database health, performance, storage, jobs, blocking, deadlocks, replication, HA status, and backup completion.
Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, including slow queries, execution plans, indexing, statistics, locking, blocking, tempdb pressure, and resource contention. Review schema changes, stored procedures, indexes, data access patterns, and query designs with software engineering teams before production deployment. Partner with Product Group Team Leads / Architects and software engineers to improve database design, data access reliability, and maintainability.
Support release readiness by validating database scripts, migration plans, rollback procedures, deployment dependencies, and production impact. Participate in L2 / L3 escalation for database-related production issues, urgent defects, data integrity concerns, and business-impacting incidents. Lead or contribute to root cause analysis for database-related incidents and define practical remediation actions.
Identify database technical debt, single points of failure, fragile jobs, undocumented dependencies, and operational risks. Create and maintain practical documentation for database architecture, maintenance jobs, backup / recovery procedures, HA / DR processes, troubleshooting steps, and operational runbooks. Support ETL / ELT, integrations, reporting data feeds, analytics extracts, and internal data platform needs while protecting production database stability.
Help improve monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and operational visibility for database and data platform environments.
