You’ll play a critical role in building and maintaining the automation frameworks that underpin our infrastructure operations. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies at scale, supporting our global trading and research operations. As a Senior Engineer, you’ll design, implement, and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions, configuration management, infrastructure orchestration platforms, and monitoring systems that enable our engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable services.

You’ll work closely with the entirety of our infrastructure organization, development teams, and other platform teams to drive automation initiatives that help us further provide platforms that drive our delivery. You should have the enthusiasm for leveraging AI development tools to accelerate delivery and driving their adoption across the team. Man Group runs a hybrid working model where we aim for this individual to be in the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

Building and maintaining infrastructure automation platforms at scale that manage tens of thousands of cores and hundreds of terabytes of memory supporting our python-based quantitative research and trading systems. Designing infrastructure-as-code and configuration management solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible to provision and manage our on-premises resources. Operating and optimising Kubernetes clusters running production workloads across multiple environments.

Creating self-service systems-centric platforms that empower hundreds of users across Man Group. Working with diverse operating systems at scale, including Ubuntu and Windows Server environments. Collaborating with business stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where infrastructure directly impacts organisational outcomes.

Key Competencies Essential 3+ years of hands-on experience with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or Salt. Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production environments. Strong understanding of observability and monitoring practices, including experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.

Demonstrated ability to work confidently across both Unix based systems (Ubuntu, RHEL, or similar distributions) and Windows environments. Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Powershell, Bash, or Go.
