BEAT81 — Berlin, Berlin
About BEAT81 At BEAT81, we're on a mission to revolutionize fitness by merging the best of technology, group training, and expert coaching. As a rapidly growing fitness-tech startup, we empower people across Europe - and soon the world - to Sweat Smarter Together. Through innovative HIIT & RIDE workouts, real-time heart rate monitoring, and gamification, we're transforming the traditional fitness experience into something dynamic, personalized, and impactful.
We're not just building a global leader in fitness and technology; we're building a world-class team. At BEAT81, we value passion, potential, and the power of fresh perspectives. The Role We're looking for a Senior Product UI/UX Designer to join us in our Berlin office to shape how people experience BEAT81 - from booking their first class to crushing their hundredth.
You'll own design across our product ecosystem: the member app, coach tools, and our most honest challenge - the user’s immediate in-workout experience. We need someone who can zoom out to build systems that scale, then zoom in to obsess over the micro-interactions that make an experience feel alive. This role blends typical product design with something rarer.
Yes, you'll improve flows, refine interfaces, and build scalable design systems. But you'll also design for moments most designers never touch: people under physical and cognitive load, hearts pounding, 20 seconds left on the clock. In those moments, every pixel needs to earn its place.
Simplicity isn't a nice-to-have, it is what defines if users come back to push hard again. The workout screen is the last thing our members see before they dig deep. " Between quitting at month two and building a lifelong habit.
You'll shape that moment - for thousands of people, multiple times per day, across Europe. If that excites you, let's talk. You will: Own Product Design across BEAT81's member app, coach tools, and in-workout experiences Build and maintain design systems that create consistency across our product suite Design our real-time workout interfaces - translating complex data (heart rate, power, cadence) into intuitive visuals a first-timer understands instantly Design in-class feedback and progress tracking experiences Be the first dedicated Product UI/UX Designer, reporting to the Director of Product Operations.
You'll work directly with our CEO/CPO, two Product Managers, and multiple engineering squads. Design iteratively, prototype rapidly, test in live environments, and iterate based on observed behavior Balance long-term system-thinking with hands-on execution: You contribute to Product strategy as much as you support in making it happen. You have: 5+ years of Product Design experience, with demonstrable work on real-time, high-cognitive-load interfaces.
Regular command of AI tools to accelerate your workflow – whether for rapid concept generation, prototyping, or exploring design directions. You see AI as a multiplier for your taste, not a replacement for it. Strong motion design skills - you think in states, transitions, and feedback loops, not just static screens.
Fluency in Figma, prototyping tools (Principle, ProtoPie, or similar), and enough front-end understanding to collaborate effectively with the Product team. The ability to articulate why - you defend design decisions with user psychology, and design best practices. A bias toward testing over debating.
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership.
Nice To Have
: Background in game design, interaction design for sports/fitness, or immersive experience design Experience with spatial/environmental design (stadium displays, retail experiences, live events) This role is not for you if: Your portfolio is primarily marketing sites, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS dashboards You haven't worked with animation or motion-design as a core design tool You prefer pixel-perfect handoffs over fast iteration You’re not located in Berlin Benefit
