KARE-TV is on the hunt for a weekday AM Meteorologist who loves helping people plan their day and loves Upper Midwest weather.

The successful candidate will mastered every aspect of meteorology, and understands daypart forecasting, to preparing graphics, to reporting in the field, to being an integral part of severe weather coverage reaching our community on television, mobile and social media platforms. The AM Meteorologist must be passionate about winning severe weather in all seasons and telling a clear and compelling weather story even on bright sunny days. They need to embrace new technology, streaming and being a key part of the KARE 11 weather team , and be willing to explore new ways to present the weather story while also being a key leader in promoting community involvement.

: • Works with the Chief Meteorologist and News Director to implement content and strategy to the morning audience.

Requirements

: • Bachelor's degree in meteorology; AMS Certification • Minimum 5 years of on-air experience • Demonstrated leadership experience • Strong communication skills (written/oral) • Ability to work under pressure while meeting daily assigned deadlines • Applicable knowledge of multiplatform newsgathering tools and resources • Fluent with social media platforms and social management tools, including Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube Pay Range $0.01 — $0.02 USD
