About The Role
The primary purpose of the position is to perform labor tasks in support of general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. What You'll Be Doing Loads and unloads trucks and other vehicles. Moves supplies, equipment, and materials using hand trucks or wheelbarrows.
Stacks and stores materials properly. Collects and disposes of refuse and recyclable materials. Digs, fills, and compacts soil for landscaping and repair work.
Shovels concrete, sand, and debris as needed. Cleans drainage culverts and ditches. Cuts and clears brush and small trees.
Moves and arranges heavy furniture, appliances, and office equipment. Assists in moving heavy machinery and equipment. Fills or places sandbags.
Pick up leaves, trash, and other debris to maintain clean facilities. Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We'Re Looking For
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks that require minimal specialized skills or prior experience. Previous experience in manual labor or maintenance work is a plus but not mandatory. Understanding of safety procedures and ability to work in compliance with OSHA and workplace safety regulations.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 Public Trust background check, if required for the position. Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time. Must be able to work on-call, as well as alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary, including weekends and holidays. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions Duties may involve working around various hazards while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
