Transit Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer provides systemwide design deliverables for railroad and transit vehicle movements. This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with team members across the entire organization, working on highly sophisticated project deliverables.

Requirements

, interfaces and performance criteria to ensure the proper development, integration and implementation of signal systems while ensuring operational and safety objectives for transit systems. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: System Design Develop and manage system-level integration of train control systems. Perform block design calculations including safe braking analysis.

Perform traction power return current analysis to ensure broken rail protection.

Engineering Analysis & Technical Support Perform system-level and electrical circuit analysis to support novel or non-standard design architectures.

Analyze data collected from field surveys and testing activities to support troubleshooting, validation, and system performance assessments. Documentation & Tools Develop technical documentation, test procedures, and verification forms supporting system design and validation activities. , Box, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office) to manage system engineering deliverables.

: 2-5 years of experience within similar transit system design environment. S. Driver’s License in good standing.

Ability to travel occasionally for Corporate Events and Training. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good organization and communication skills.

Strong Time Management skills. Work with a diverse group of individuals and organizations representing public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors and suppliers. Preferences: Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Electrical Engineering Degree Preferred.

Familiar with FRA regulations CFR 234, 236.
