HEAPY is seeking a Senior Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Colleague First culture in Greenville, South Carolina for our Healthcare Team. The Senior Level Mechanical Engineer performs a variety of assignments involving the application of standard mechanical design engineering techniques for HEAPY projects.

This colleague accomplishes specific objectives that involve different variables related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment. Qualifications

Possession of a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent working knowledge/experience in a built environment with an advanced degree in engineering. Typically 6 - 9 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering) related to mechanical engineering systems in the Built Environment. Capability of exercising judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make design adaptations and modifications.

Considerable experience using various computer software packages and automated mechanical engineering and design equipment. Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and be working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration. PE registration would be attained within the first 2 years of attaining this position level.

, ask questions). Develops full plan designs, details, and outlines, identifies materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project. Gathers and records information for the preparation of design specifications.

Reviews/evaluates vendor (and at higher levels, approves) shop drawings, bids, and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications. Reviews and approves mechanical design drawings for assigned segments of projects. If PE has been obtained, serves as the engineer of record as applicable.

Assists with the development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures when directed by a technical leader/design manager. Prepares technical reports such as life cycle cost analysis, facility conditions assessments, and other engineering guidance for clients.
