Responsibilities
and tasks with ease. And, you take pride in your work and leading others. You have end-to-end responsibility for internally adjusted claims, which are handled by road adjusters, telephone adjusters, examiners, and our online system.
You work closely with the claims manager and supervisor to identify the training and mentoring needs of claims employees by conducting file reviews, team huddles, and one-on-ones. You deliver guidance that meets those needs. You ensure sound and reasoned decisions are made on files, and great service is delivered.
You are the first line of communication on conflict issues, and actively coach staff, helping them build capacity for the same skill sets. You recognize that, although the team handles hundreds of claims a year, this is likely the customer’s first claim ever (or at least in a while). You know you're never set up for failure; instead, you get all the coaching, mentoring, training, and tools you need for continued success. Working in Square One's claims department, you are the main point of contact for claimants and your team of adjusters.
, including: Ensuring your team's performance standards are met and conducting level 1 mentor reviews. Reviewing and approving claims settlements, ensuring the same are effective, efficient, and fair. Supporting adjusters with operational and technical matters.
Reinforcing process, claims, product, and system changes with adjusters. Reviewing and approving claims payments of $25,000 or less. Resolving customer complaints.
Reviewing adjuster files monthly to ensure standards are met. Maintaining your own training and industry knowledge. As a member of the Square One team, you have the desire to contribute to the overall success of the company.

Provides and receives constructive feedback. Your Experience + Education Your experience and education, combined with the product and claims training we provide, help ensure your success at Square One. For this role, you have: At least 5 years of property claims insurance experience.
1 year of team lead or mentoring of junior adjusters/examiners experience. A level 2 adjuster’s license or the ability to obtain one. A high school diploma and, preferably, some post-secondary education.
A CIP designation or actively working towards this designation. At least 1 year of tenure with a recent employer.
