What You'Ll Do
As Giga's HSE Manager embedded on the Project Development team, you will own the health, safety, and environmental program for our data center construction sites. You're the person who keeps our teams safe while we build at an unprecedented pace — and you understand that safety and speed are not in conflict when the program is built right. You'll develop site-specific safety plans, lead compliance efforts, and build a culture where every worker on site goes home the same way they arrived.
This is a hands-on, site-facing role that requires presence, authority, and a genuine passion for protecting people. You'll work directly alongside Construction Managers, subcontractors, and project leadership to embed safety into the way we build — not as an afterthought, but as a competitive advantage. Where You'll Work This is an on-site position that requires long term travel and/ or short term relocation.
This person should be comfortable with 3-6 month periods of being at a location before moving to the next.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans for data center construction projects. Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits; identify hazards, issue corrective actions, and verify resolution in a timely manner. Lead site safety orientations and ongoing safety training for all workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
Investigate all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local/state environmental regulations across all active construction sites. Maintain all required HSE documentation including permits, inspection logs, MSDS/SDS records, and incident reports.
Manage environmental compliance activities including stormwater management (SWPPP), spill prevention, waste disposal, and air quality monitoring. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during site inspections or audits.

5+ years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental role on active construction sites. OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (minimum); OSHA 500 or CSP preferred. Direct experience managing HSE compliance on large-scale commercial, industrial, or civil construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction safety standards and applicable EPA environmental regulations. Experience developing site-specific safety plans, JSAs, and emergency response plans from scratch. Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations and produce actionable root cause analysis reports.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence behavior across a diverse workforce. Bonus Points Prior HSE experience on data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical facility construction projects.
