PRECISION CLEANING TECHNICIAN I Based out of Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach, California the Precision Cleaning Technician I will work with various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Rutherford and Archimedes Rocket engines.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO Take responsibility for cleaning machined flight hardware components and assemblies. Work with major components of the Rutherford rocket engine, which are primarily 3D printed, including thrust chambers, injectors, main valves, and pump parts. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure precision and quality in all tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced in precision cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners, degreasers, oxygen cleaning and clean room methodology/practices. Hands-on experience with bagging parts and generating accurate labels. Familiarity with cleanroom environments and protocols.
Experience working with cleaning chemicals and adhering to proper handling procedures. Experience documenting daily activities.
WOULD BE
NICE TO HAVE
: 1+ years of experience in precision cleaning in aerospace industry. Knowledge of ultrasonic cleaning tanks. Understanding of non-volatile residue (NVR) processes.
Experience with particle testing for parts.
REQUIREMENTS
: Willing to work 1st shift (Friday - Sunday 5:00am - 3:30pm) Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position. Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
