Role Overview Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is looking to expand its MEP design team, and we are looking for a focused and reliable Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of Mechanical building services design. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of projects, working closely with senior engineers, multidisciplinary colleagues, and clients to deliver robust, coordinated and compliant design solutions.
You will be responsible for delivering day-to-day mechanical engineering design on live projects, from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.

This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working in detail and wants to grow within a supportive and technically driven team.
Responsibilities
Undertake mechanical engineering design for building services projects, including heating, ventilation, cooling, and domestic water systems Prepare and check calculations, drawings and specifications for concept, developed and technical design stages Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, sustainability) Work closely with project leads and senior engineers to ensure technical compliance and quality assurance Support the development of design packages for tender and construction, including responding to contractor queries Contribute to internal technical reviews and team knowledge sharing Use tools such as IES, AutoCAD, and Revit to develop coordinated and accurate design outputs Carry out surveys of buildings to review and provide commentary on the existing mechanical installations.
Qualifications

Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering Ideally working towards professional registration (CIBSE or IMechE) Experience Track record in a similar role Project design responsibility from feasibility through to detailed design and construction Use of relevant MS and design software Behaviours Recognised as a client focused, positive co
